Tell us about your degree - why did you choose it? What elements of the degree inspired you to study it?

The reason I chose the Management Consulting course is that consulting is a very interesting and challenging area which could provide me with diverse experiences in different industries.
The elements that inspired me included helpful and professional teachers, excellent curriculum and the opportunity to undertake a consulting project.

What was the best part of your studies here? What did you enjoy the most?

The best part of my studies was the Easter internship provided by the course. I enjoyed the great working environment with helpful colleagues and the sense of fulfilment that I could solve a problem for my employer.

What were your career aspirations when you arrived? Do you think the experience and skills you gained here helped you in your future career plans? In what way?

On arrival my career aspiration was to be a professional consultant. I've acquired great analytical and interpersonal skills which are of great use to my career since they are the basic requirements of a consultant.

How has your career progressed since leaving the Business School? Have there been any notable highlights?

After leaving the Business School, I secured a permanent job position in PwC China as a Tax Associate. Prior to this role, I undertook a consulting internship in a small size strategy consulting company in China.

What are your ambitions for the future?

After gaining some experience in the company I'm working for, I will try to find a job in a consulting company. I would like to be a successful consultant in the future.

If you are not from the UK, how was the transition to a foreign country? Did the university offer support or services that you found helpful? Can you offer any advice?

The transition was difficult at first because I was quite shy and not that good at speaking English. But the language centre and career centre in the university really helped me a lot since there was always someone to turn to when you came across some difficulties. My advice would be: 'Be brave and believe in yourself. Try your best to do everything you would like to!'

What was your impression/experience of the facilities, the staff, your peers, the student union, the City of Leeds and the region itself? What would you recommend to future students?

They are just wonderful! I like the library and IT clusters, and the people here are all extremely kind and helpful. As for the city, it's both quiet and busy, you could get everything you want here whilst living a peaceful life. My recommendation would be: explore the university more, you may find many surprises.

What would you say is your defining memory of studying here? (eg friendships made, confidence in your abilities, or any single event that you will always remember?) And would you recommend the Business School to others

My defining memory here is the great opportunity provided. I would definitely recommend the Business School to others.
