LUBS alum shines at Leeds University Union Careers Event

Jhalak Desai (MSc Management 2020) returned to campus and inspired students to make the most of the opportunities available.

LUBS alum Jhalak Desai (MSc Management 2020) made a welcome return to campus recently to speak to a group of students as part of a careers event organised by Leeds University Union. The objective of the event was to give postgraduate students a glimpse into what life is like in different cities, through the eyes of alumni who have established themselves there.

Jhalak, a Change Management Consultant at Deloitte in Leeds, received excellent feedback after the event where her passion to motivate others truly shone through. Having already lived on three continents and worked for several companies in the UK including Arla and Manchester Metropolitan University, she was well placed to offer advice to students and inspire them to make the most of the opportunities available to them.

Says Jhalak “It was truly nostalgic to be back to my alma mater! As a student, I used to look forward to conversations and guest lectures by our alumni as they brought with them very valuable experiences. It was very special to be able to share my professional journey with the current students and give that alumni career talk myself! Looking forward to many more and a sustainable relationship with the University of Leeds.”
