Reforming capitalism to tackle our anxieties and bring about better business for the greater good
This event will see Professor Sir Paul Collier FBA, CBE, Professor Colin Mayer FBA, CBE, share the latest thinking and research into the future of capitalism and the corporation to understand how business might be changed to make it work better for society. The speakers will bring together their new books alongside the British Academy's Future of the Corporation programme research to pose serious questions of our economic system.

Professor Sir Paul Collier
Sir Paul Collier is a Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government and a Professorial Fellow of St Antony's College. From 1998-2003 he took a five-year Public Service leave during which he was Director of the Research Development Department of the World Centre. He is currently a Professeur invité at Sciences Po and a Director of the International Growth Centre. He has written for the New York Times, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post.
Professor Colin Mayer
Colin Mayer is the Peter Moores professor of Management Studies at the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. He is a professorial Fellow of Wadham College, Oxford and an Honorary Fellow of Oriel College and St Anne's College, Oxford. He is a member of the UK Competition Appeal tribunal, the UK Government Natural Capital Committee and the International Advisory Board of the Securities Exchange Board of India. Colin Mayer was the first professor at the Saïd Business School in 1994 and the Peter Moores Dean of the Business School between 2006 and 2011. He works on the nature of the corporation, the regulation of financial markets and institutions, and their effects on the financing and control of corporations. The common theme of his research is the international comparative nature of a corporate finance and corporate governance and the relation of these to financial markets.
