Leeds Achieves Highest Position to Date in QS Sustainability Rankings

Leeds University Business School is committed to sustainability, showcasing how the School contributes to the University of Leeds' highest ever position in the QS Sustainability Rankings.

In the 2026 QS Sustainability Rankings, the University of Leeds is placed 24th out of 2,002 universities worldwide and joint ninth in the UK. This places Leeds within the global top two per cent, with an overall score of 95.8 out of 100. The University is also joint first in the UK for Health and Wellbeing (99.4%), reflecting a community that helps students and staff to thrive.  

The overall result recognises sustained delivery across environmental, social and governance measures. 

Dr Jyoti Mishra, Associate Professor in Information Management and Leeds University Business School Director of Sustainability, said: 

At Leeds, our mission is to make a positive impact on the economy, society, and the planet. We have managed to integrate sustainability across the entire institution, shaping our research, curriculum, operational choices, and the way we work with our students.

Mishra adds: 

Our research delivers insights that advance solutions to global challenges and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while sustainability education is woven throughout our programmes to prepare future leaders. We have embedded sustainability in our organisational practices and are empowering our students as change agents where they play an active role in co-creating initiatives that strengthen our impact.
