Profile
Prior to joining Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds, she held the position of Lecturer in Business Analytics at Essex Business School, University of Essex. She received her PhD from Cardiff Business School, specialising in operations and supply chain management, and holds a Master in Design Management from University of Southampton. To conduct her research, Wenjuan utilizes a range of methodologies, including surveys, scenario-based experiments, event studies, case studies, fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA), Joint Sentiment-Topic (JST) analysis, and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) for topic modelling.
Wenjuan has actively secured research funding to support her work in these areas. In 2023, she successfully secured a project funded by the British Academy as PI on 'Do organizations' risk perception and governance impact digital transformation? An experimental approach in the UK manufacturing sector.' Additionally, she received Innovate UK funding as PI in 2024 for a project focused on 'Developing a sustainability module to achieve a circular economy.' In this project, she collaborated with a leading UK technology company to explore process developments that incorporate the new European Digital Product Passport (DPP) regulations into their business model.
Research interests
Her research interests lie at the intersection of operations and supply chain management, technology management, and digital transformation. Much of her work explores the application, integration, and impact of digital technologies on operational efficiency and quality management across private and public sectors. Her work has been published in journals including Public Management Review, Transportation Research Part E, Production Planning & Control, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services.
