Leeds Partnership Awards 2026 Celebrates Outstanding Mentorship in the International Business Department
The University community came together at last week’s Leeds Partnership Awards 2026 gala celebration at Leeds University Union.
Recognition was given to the individuals and teams who strengthen partnership, learning and student experience across the institution. This year’s awards received a record 3,818 nominations, highlighting the dedication of staff and students across the University.
Among the evening’s winners was Mohammad Faisal Ahammad from the International Business Department, who received the Mentorship Award for his outstanding support and guidance of students and colleagues.
The award recognises individuals who inspire, encourage and help others develop professionally and personally. Professor Ahammad was praised for combining academic excellence with genuine care, creating an inclusive environment where people feel supported to grow and succeed. Colleagues and students also commended his leadership for fostering trust, collaboration and a strong sense of belonging within the department.
Speaking after receiving the award, Professor Ahammad thanked colleagues and students in the Faculty of Business and the International Business Department for their nomination and support. He said he was honoured to receive the recognition and described it as a reflection of the culture of trust, collaboration and mutual respect built within the department.
The awards celebrated the strong spirit of partnership across the University, with winners recognised for their exceptional contributions to the University community.
