Why did you choose Leeds University Business School?

When I first visited the Business School, I knew this was the place I wanted to study my degree. There was a great sense of community fostered by both staff and fellow students. Being a world-renowned Business School with an outstanding reputation, alongside having a wide range of exceptional facilities is what ultimately led me to choose Leeds, as it was an environment where I could see myself reaching my full potential.

What do you enjoy most about your studies?

I enjoy the variety of opportunities the Business School provides. Being able to have the choice of optional and discovery modules means that you can explore other interests beyond your degree subject which is both interesting and stimulating. Being part of the Business School Society has been a great way to communicate and build relationships with my peers which has also assisted my studies.

Have you taken up any of the extra opportunities available to you?

During my first year of studies, I attended PASS (Peer Assisted Study Support) sessions, which are run by second and final year students; these sessions helped me to adapt to university life and provided me with people to go to for advice on the academic changes that you encounter when starting your degree. I have also attended careers workshops which have helped me build my essential skills and they also helped me begin applying for placement opportunities.

How has your experience been with the facilities, the staff, your peers and the student union?

The facilities within the Business School are adapted to cater to everyone's educational needs, with areas for independent study as well as more sociable areas perfect for group work and collaboration.

All staff members have been friendly and helpful, always open to answering any queries and questions you may have regarding both study and university life. Leeds University Union has provided a great place to meet and build relationships with peers, hosting social and networking events which enhance the sense of community within the Business School.

What do you think of Leeds and the surrounding region? Where is your favourite place to go in the area?

Leeds is bustling with student life! It has something for everyone, with recreational activities ranging from museums to bars and restaurants as well as fitness and outdoor activities. With the University being located just a short distance from the city centre, it provides the perfect university and life balance.

What are your career aspirations? Do you think the experience and skills you will gain from your degree course will help you in your future career plans?

I aspire to become a Human Resources Manager. One of the main reasons I chose to study at Leeds University Business School is the professional accreditation it holds with the CIPD, which means I will be eligible for associate membership of the CIPD once I complete my degree. This will be a great help when I start my career.

Would you recommend the Business School to others who are considering studying here?

I would highly recommend the Business School as it provides everyone with an environment where you can perform to your highest potential.
