Leeds University Business School celebrates AACSB reaccreditation

Leeds University Business School is proud to announce the successful extension of its accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

This reaffirms its status among the world’s top business schools.

AACSB accreditation, recognised globally as a hallmark of excellence in business education, has been renewed following a rigorous peer-review process. This process evaluates institutions on criteria such as strategic management, innovation, research, and teaching quality. The extension highlights the School’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and the delivery of high-quality business education.

Executive Dean, Professor Julia Bennell, commented on the significance of the reaccreditation:

This recognition confirms Leeds University Business School among the top 1% of business schools globally, thanks to the quality and hard work of our faculty, staff, and students. It showcases our commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience that prepares our graduates to excel in the global business environment.

The peer review team commended the School for exceptional work across several areas, including research support, scholarships, internationalisation, and the quality of facilities. The School’s strong commitment to sustainability was also recognised — particularly the blueprint for embedding sustainability, carbon literacy training, slow travel policy, and the integration of sustainability into the curriculum. The Leaders in Residence and Corporate Wisdom programmes were both highlighted as examples of best practice, and the work of the Director of Culture and Values was noted and appreciated for their importance and impact.

Leeds University Business School holds the prestigious ‘Triple Crown’ accreditation, awarded by AACSB, the Association of MBAs (AMBA), and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). Only a small number of business schools worldwide hold this distinction, underlining the School’s excellence across teaching, research, and engagement with the business community.

The reaccreditation comes as the School continues to make significant strides in research and innovation. In the latest national Research Excellence Framework, it was ranked fifth in the UK for research power in business and management studies, reflecting the strength and impact of its research output.

With a diverse student body from around the world, Leeds University Business School offers a broad portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA, PhD, and executive education programmes. Strong industry links and a global outlook ensure students graduate ready to meet the challenges of today’s dynamic business landscape.
