Business School researchers nominated for impact awards

Colleagues from across the Business School were celebrated at the University’s 2024 Research Impact and Engagement Awards.

The awards were designed to shine a light on colleagues who exemplify the University’s ambition for maximising positive impact, driving down inequalities and addressing social and economic challenges.

The following Business School researchers were nominated for awards:

  • Dr Francesca Giliberto (with Paloma Guzman, Norwegian Institute for Cultural Heritage; Mesut Dinler, Polytechnic University of Turin; Joanne McCafferty, Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS); Ian Thomas, British Council; Rothit Jigyasu, International Centre for the Study of Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM); Erlend Gjelsvik, Innlandet County Authority; Martin Budd, Hull City Council; Hannah Preston, Leeds University Business School; and Katy Nandra , Leeds University Business School) - Advancing cultural heritage governance for resilient climate adaptation

Professor Nick Wilson received a special mention for his project with Marek Kacer (Leeds University Business School) - Business finance forecasting and policy modelling research: debt and equity finance for small and high business growth

As one of the largest research-intensive universities in the UK, the University of Leeds has the depth and breadth of expertise required to address these social and economic challenges through excellent research – whether that’s by influencing policy, driving economic growth, promoting cultural enrichment, improving health outcomes, building social capital or fostering sustainable development.

By recognising the wide-ranging forms of impact achieved through collaboration and perseverance, it’s hoped these awards inspire others to undertake and engage in equally transformative research.
