Alumnus Tosin Ibikunle returns to inspire the next generation of MBA students
On Thursday 3 October, Leeds University Business School had the pleasure of welcoming back Tosin Ibikunle (MBA 2007) for his first visit to the campus since graduating.
During his talk, Tosin shared insights from his impressive career journey, detailing his experiences both before and after completing the MBA programme. One of the key highlights was his decision to return to Nigeria to work, rather than pursue opportunities in other countries. He emphasized his strong connection to his roots and his passion for giving back to his community, which continues to shape his professional path today.
Tosin also spoke about his belief in the power of education, a principle that has guided his continuous professional development. Over the years, he has taken a variety of courses to enhance his skills, including coaching, which he now offers to others for free. His commitment to “paying back” resonated with the students, as he shared how he regularly gives back to his community by mentoring and inspiring others to pursue education.

The session concluded with a lively Q&A, where Tosin’s approachable and professional demeanour encouraged students to continue the conversation long after the formal talk ended.

Life journeys are similar to riding a bicycle. To enjoy the ride, please grind but do not keep your eyes on the pedal. Instead, take in the breeze, enjoy the moment, and focus on the destination. Dare to imagine; dare to dream.
