Academia meets industry at 'The Business of AI' event

On 18 September the Business School hosted ‘The Business of AI' event as part of Leeds Digital Festival and the School’s Ideas in Practice seminar series. 

With over 60 delegates, the event explored AI’s role in reshaping industries and its ethical challenges. Industry leaders, including a keynote address by Rashik Parmar, CEO of the British Computer Society, discussed AI-driven innovation. 

Further experts included:

  • Viknesh Sounderajah, AI Research and Innovation Lead, YouTube Health
  • Howard Feng, Co-Founder and Lead for Business Development and Partnerships, Med Frontier Suppliers and Consultancy UK Limited
  • Shui Liu, Co-Founder and Lead for Business Development and Partnerships, Med Frontier Suppliers and Consultancy UK Limited

Academics from Leeds also contributed insights on using AI for management improvements. The event fostered collaboration between academia and industry, aiming to shape AI's future responsibly.
