Nicky Kinsey is a Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) in the Marketing Department with a specialism in Employment and Professional Developmet. Prior to this position, she worked within the department organising internal and external events and student opportunities. Her interests lie in team dynamics, leadership and emotional intelligence. Her research interests centre around entrepreneurial competencies. Her role requires a great deal of networking and collaborating with international employers, UK businesses and Marketing Industry professionals. Before commencing her work in LUBS, she had a career in international and UK primary education. Nicky is passionate about preparing students to become global marketing professionals.

Research interests

A consistent theme running through Nicky’s research is work-readiness competencies. These competencies can be related to entrepreneurial competence, more general employment competencies including cultural competence, or industry-related competencies, considering the specific tasks and skills associated with the marketing profession. Finally, Nicky is interested in advancing pedagogical research and looking to bring her research to the classroom to further develop students' capabilities. She is currently looking at inner feedback and how this can be developed by students studying at undergraduate level.
