Economics alumnus commended in Undergraduate Awards

Congratulations to Mathew Warboys (BA Economics and Politics 2018) who has been named as ‘Highly commended’ for the third time in the Global Undergraduate Awards.

After being named Highly Commended in the Economics category in the awards in 2014 and 2015, this year Mathew moved into the Politics and International Relations category, submitting a paper entitled “To what degree would a directly elected President of the European Commission solve the EU’s democratic deficit?”

Mathew will be attending The Undergraduate Awards Global Summit in Dublin in November, an event to showcase the power of international undergraduate research across all disciplines.

On his achievement, Mathew commented:

“I am extremely delighted to have been named as Highly Commended in The Global Undergraduate Awards for the third time, and therefore to now be looking forward to my second attendance at The Global Summit. Having worked very hard on my University papers, it is extremely pleasing that three of them have received this international praise, and therefore that I have been able to induce a pertinent foundation of academic confidence to take into my future writing and editorial work!”

Mathew is a freelance writer, and is also in the process of launching “MW Editorial Services”, a business that is set to offer proof-reading, copy-editing, copy-writing, fact-checking, and other related editorial services.
