Both the UK’s Money Advice Service, and the US-based equivalent Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, have called for more evidence-based research to help further understand how we might improve peoples’ financial capability.

In this video blog, Dr Simon McNair explains his research into developing a resource that can be given to those requiring debt advice. The brochure, ‘Money Worries and how to beat them’, provides targeted advice and support to tackle the emotional and psychological barriers those in debt often face.

You can find out more about the theory behind the research in a previous video blog by Simon. And if you’d like to hear more about Simon’s research, get in touch at research.LUBS@leeds.ac.uk.
