Celebrating Business School Sports Scholars
On Monday 13 February, staff and students from across the University, including the Business School, gathered to celebrate the achievements of our sports scholars.
This year the University has 68 students from across 28 different degree courses and 49 sports ranging from figure skating, climbing and athletics, to cricket and rugby. They compete at a range of competitions as individuals and represent the University with their club teams, whilst working towards both their sporting goals and their academic studies under the University’s dual-career policy.
All scholars are supported by the University’s Sports Scholarship Programme to help and guide them in achieving their goals to the highest of their ability, both within their sport and academia.
Head of Sport, Suzanne Glavin said;
This term more than ever it was so uplifting to host this annual sport scholar’s reception that recognises and celebrates our talented student athletes. It was so wonderful too to have so many of their supportive academics and academic support staff alongside our dedicated sports team in the room with the scholars, all proud to support and praise them and many like me were in awe of their achievements.
