Profile
I received my Ph.D. degree in sociology and demography from UC Berkeley in 2024 and two masters’ degrees in these two disciplines. Prior to joining LUBS PWE department as a full-time lecturer, I worked as a quantitative researcher in an ESRC-funded project “Young Women’s Working Lives” at City, University of London.
In most of my research I apply quantitative research methods to answer questions in the intersection of labour, work, family, and gender. I have solid background in statistical analysis, demographic methods, and social network analysis and at the same time, I adopt mixed method approach in research projects related to “sharing labour” on digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Deputy director of MSc Data Analytics and HRM programme
Research interests
My research agenda centers on understanding how individuals navigate work, family, and social relationships within the context of demographic shifts, including increased longevity, declining fertility, weakened marriage regime, and extended lifecourse in education. Theoretically, I aim to explore how the meanings, framings, and toolkits surrounding work evolve, particularly in the negotiation between work, individual development, and family life, and how these dynamics shape workers’ identities, with a focus on women and marginalized labor groups. I am also committed to enhancing my skills in quantitative and mixed methods research methodologies. Currently, I am working on in two main research projects: one utilises national longitudinal survey data to examine the interplay between life course development and work experiences and histories, while the other employs mixed methods to investigate the emerging phenomenon of stay-at-home mothers who have become social media influencers.
