PWE Professor receives one million views on Chinese TikTok

Professor Jonathan Winterton presented his lecture to Leeds University Business School students and received almost one million views online through Douyin (Chinese TikTok).

Professor Jonathan Winterton’s lecture to MSc Data Analytics and HRM students was viewed by almost one million online viewers on Chinese TikTok, Douyin. 

Dr Chunyu Xiu asked a fellow colleague from the University of York, Dr Yangchun (Chris) Xiong, Lecturer in Operations Management and an Educational Influencer, to record Jonathan’s lecture and share it on the platform. 

Across the two livestream sessions, the overall exposure reached 967,000 total views within 6 hours, with a total of approximately 132,000 room visitors (who joined in on the online discussions and engagement in the livestreaming room).  

In addition, these two sessions recorded an average of 422 concurrent viewers, with the peak audience reaching 2,498 at its highest point.  

Dr. Chris Xiong has over 33K followers on Chinese TikTok (Douyin) which he uses to educate, inspire and reach potential students.
