The Society for Consumer Psychology, a significant association in our field known for publishing the leading 4* journal, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, has chosen Leeds University Business School for this prestigious conference. We are particularly excited to be the first university in the UK and the second in Europe to host this event.
Important Dates and Deadlines:
- Submission Deadline: January 26, 2024
- Notification Date: February 26, 2024
- Conference Dates: June 5-7, 2024
The co-chairs of this conference will be Professor Josko Brakus (LUBS), Professor Sonia Monga (Georgia State University, USA), Professor Sharon Ng (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), and Professor Bernd Schmitt (Columbia University, USA).
Simply put – this conference aims to address the question: “Where are brands now?” by featuring contemporary research on the psychology of brands.
The evolution of branding is tightly intertwined with technological advancements such as data analytics, the metaverse, artificial intelligence, NFTs and others. Moreover, societal, economic, and political changes are fundamentally reshaping interactions between brands and consumers. Brands are supposed to be culturally sensitive; take stances on socio-political issues and be ecologically friendly and sustainable. These technological and socio-cultural forces shape marketing and brand communications and have implications for brand theory and measurement.
As a result, the conference aims to explore research questions along five themes:
- Technology of Brands
- Sustainable Brands
- Brands and Socio-political Causes
- Brand Marketing and Communications
- Brand Theory and Measurement
We look forward to engaging in meaningful discussions and fostering intellectual exchange among leading scholars. As we prepare to host this event in June 2024, we anticipate enriching conversations that will significantly contribute to the field of consumer psychology. Stay tuned for further details and updates on this conference.
