Leeds University Business School to host Northern European Consumer Research Symposium

This year, the Business School will be hosting the Northern European Consumer Research Symposium (NECR).

The one-day symposium will take place on 12th June 2023 and is expected to attract around 75 attendees.

The symposium takes place annually and is co-organised with leading research universities such as Copenhagen Business School, Stockholm School of Economics, Bayes Business School, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), University of Amsterdam (UvA), University of Groningen and Aalto Business School.

The event is aimed at researchers with an interest in the field of consumer research—with a particular focus on behavioural and experimental types of consumer research. The event will be attended by faculty members and doctoral students at the participating Northern European universities. Each participating university chooses one junior faculty member or doctoral student to represent their institution and showcase their research. Presentations will cover topics such as AI, body image and socio-political brand activism.

Dr Aulona Ulqinaku, Associate Professor of Marketing and member of the NERC organisational committee, comments:

This event is a great opportunity for PGRs and junior scholars to share their research findings, get answers and suggestions for their doubts, and build a solid network of colleagues and mentors in the experimental consumer behaviour field. We are very pleased to host this year’s edition of the event and would like to thank everyone who helped in making this plan a reality.

Dr Maximilian Gerrath, also an Associate Professor of Marketing and member of the NERC organisational committee, adds:

Each of the universities taking part in the NECR 2023 will select one junior researcher to represent their university. It will be a brilliant opportunity to showcase their work, grow their network, and receive feedback from several high-profile scholars.

The event will take place on the University of Leeds campus and people interested in the event can contact the LUBS-based organisers (Dr Aulona Ulqinaku & Dr Maximilian Gerrath) to sign up.
