Shobhit Saxena

Profile

Dr Shobhit Saxena is a Lecturer in Analytics and AI in Business in the Analytics, Technology and Operations Department. His research lies at the intersection of econometrics, business analytics, and data science, with a particular focus on discrete choice modelling, demand analysis, and behavioural analytics. He specialises in developing and applying econometric choice models and machine-learning–integrated econometric frameworks to study consumer decision-making and market behaviour.

His work has been published in leading journals, including Transportation Research Part A, Part B, Part C, and the Journal of Choice Modelling. He has also presented his work at major international conferences such as the Transportation Research Board (TRB), International Choice Modelling Conference, and the European Working Group on Transportation (Google Scholar and SCOPUS profile). He also serves in editorial roles for journals in the areas of choice modelling and sustainability.

Dr Saxena’s research interests include consumer adoption of new services, behavioural responses to policy and market interventions. He also works on transport equity and safety.

Prior to joining the department, he held research appointments at the Centre for Transportation Research, The University of Texas at Austin, and the Centre for infrastructure, Sustainable Transportation and Urban Planning at the Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru.
