Lijun (Mio) Zhang

Profile

Lijun Zhang is a postgraduate researcher at the University of Leeds Business School (LUBS), pursuing a PhD in Management and Organisational Behaviour. He holds a BSc in Psychology and an MA in Music Psychology. His academic work is complemented by practical experience, having served as a Human Resources Assistant at China Aviation Oil Corporation. He currently contributes to the community as a part-time teacher at a Chinese school in Leeds and as a volunteer at the Business Confucius Institute at the University of Leeds.

Research Projects & Grants

- Awarded Research Grant (Healthy Buildings Network Leeds): Successfully secured a competitive grant to lead a project investigating the relationship between musical spaces and residents' wellbeing. - Barnardo's Project: Served as a Research Assistant on a funded Barnardo's project, where he led the evaluation of service quality. This work involved rigorous data collection and analysis, culminating in a successful project completion that contributed to service improvement strategies.

Research interests

Lijun Zhang's research investigates the transformative role of music in organisational and educational contexts, focusing on its impact on employee well-being and workplace dynamics. He also explores the effects of AI-generated music on attention, mood, and behaviour, and examines how perceptions of AI compositions differ from those of traditional music, contributing to a nuanced understanding of music's evolving influence in professional and technological settings.
