Office for Students appointment for Dr Nick Jackson
Associate Professor in Organizational Behaviour, Dr Nick Jackson, has been appointed to programme quality assessor for the Office for Students.
The Office for Students (OfS) was established by the Higher Education and Research Act 2017 (HERA) and became fully operational in April 2018. The OfS’s primary aim is to ensure that English higher education is delivering positive outcomes for students – past, present, and future.
Dr Jackson will serve on a panel of expert academic assessors working to help the OfS assess the quality of higher education courses.
When asked what this appointment means to him, Dr Jackson said:
It offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the quality of programme design and help improve the outcomes for higher education students in English universities; helping to drive up student standards. It gives me a chance to work with a range of academics from other institutions and make changes within the system where university programmes have been recognized as failing to meet the needs of higher education students.
