Yiru Chen

Profile

Yiru Chen is a postgraduate researcher in the Economics Department at Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds, where she is pursuing her PhD under the supervision of Professor Muhammad Ali Nasir and Dr Xingjie Wei.

Her research focuses on central bank communication and its transmission channels, with particular emphasis on emotional spillovers and financial market responses.

She has presented her research at an invited seminar at the School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University, Beijing. She was also awarded Best Poster at the 2026 Economics Doctoral Conference at the University of Leeds.

In addition, she was selected and funded to present her paper at the Young Researcher Poster Session 2026, held as part of the Conference on Macroeconomic Policy, organised by the Swiss National Bank and the Study Center Gerzensee in partnership with the Journal of Monetary Economics.
