Economics Department
Economics Department
The Economics Department represents a policy-relevant and pluralistic economics that seeks to address and resolve real-world challenges through high-impact research and research-led teaching.
Our research
Our research combines and applies a diverse set of economic ideas and methods. It aims to transform the economy in ways that promote better lives for all. We demonstrate a high capability for interdisciplinary as well as disciplinary research. Our research centres around four key themes: Labour, Wellbeing and Behavioural Economics; Macro-Finance; Development, Trade, and the Environment; and Research on Pedagogy.
Our teaching
Our programmes promote understanding of a distinctively broad range of perspectives within economics. By choosing to study at Leeds, you will become an independent, critical thinker. You will acquire skills that will enable you to make a meaningful impact across a range of sectors, from public and third sectors to finance and business.
