Ruofan Song

Profile

I am a PhD student at Leeds University Business School, in the Department of Analytics, Technology and Operations.

Before joining the University of Leeds, I developed an interdisciplinary background in accounting, finance, and management, with accounting forming the core of my academic training. Throughout my undergraduate and master’s studies, I engaged in several research projects, internships, and competitions—including work related to NFTs and data storage—which gradually shaped my interest in digital technologies and ultimately led me to this field.

I used to view technology and data as objective and inherently perfect, and I witnessed how digitalisation has transformed various industries. However, my PhD training has encouraged me to examine these issues from multiple perspectives, prompting me to question earlier assumptions. This shift has inspired my current research interest in exploring how digitalisation may introduce new forms of power imbalance within supply chains. I am deeply motivated to continue advancing research in this area and greatly enjoy the process of challenging and rethinking my prior understandings.
