Leeds University Business School students took part in the Map the System (MTS) global finals competition. This took place between 3 and 6 of July at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. The competition was hosted by Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and gave the students the incredible opportunity to represent Leeds University Business School.

The students were accompanied by their supervisor Romain Crastes dit Sourd, and delivered their talk on their investigation into Pagpag (the consumption of recycled food) in the Manila’s slums. The talk uncovered how this practice reflects deeper systemic issues such as economic exclusion and survival-driven informal economies.

Overall, the students engaged deeply with systems thinking, met inspiring student teams from across the globe, and were presented with the Excellence in Storytelling Award for their presentation. So, a massive congratulations to the amazing MSc Management of Information Systems and Digital Innovation students:  Alessandra Sumeguin, Xena Felcia, Voneat Pen, Sebastian Cubillos and Mubin Panakkat.
