Championing experiential learning with expanded Global Industry Programme
Building on the remarkable success of last year's pilot, Leeds University Business School is excited to announce the expansion of the Global Industry Programme for the 2024/25 academic year.
The initiative, now spearheaded by the Faculty International Team in collaboration with the School’s Opportunities Team, offers Business School students an exceptional opportunity to engage in real-world, industry-relevant projects.
Designed to complement students’ academic studies, the Global Industry Programme connects learners with leading companies globally and across the globe to work on impactful consultancy projects. These projects, facilitated by our partner Practera, provide students with hands-on experience, fostering essential skills and enhancing their employability skills.
This year, the programme aims to engage 200 students across two cohorts, commencing in November 2024 and February 2025. Students will participate in customised projects aligned with their academic disciplines, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges in fields such as sustainable development, data analytics, international business, and digital marketing.
Chris Hoy, who leads the Opportunities Team, said:
Global Industry Programme is a transformative experience for our students, bridging the gap between academia and industry. We are proud to collaborate with Practera to provide tailored, real-world opportunities that prepare our students for global careers."
Mike McDonald, Co-Founder/CEO at ACTIV8 commented:
“THANK YOU for aligning us with such a great group of students from Leeds University Business School. I took so much out of the presentation, and they actually gave us stuff that we will use... and that is so rare in this type of situation. They were all incredibly researched areas, they listened to our feedback, and I am very impressed indeed.
Programme Highlights for 2024/25:
- Tailored Projects: Assignments are carefully matched to the skills and interests of students across departments, ensuring relevance and engagement.
- Global Reach: Companies from Spain, Nigeria, Canada, Singapore, and more offer students exposure to diverse markets and challenges.
- Impactful Themes: From tackling the UN Sustainable Development Goals to advancing AI innovations, the projects focus on meaningful and strategic outcomes.
Global Industry Programme reflects LUBS's commitment to nurturing globally minded, industry-ready graduates. We invite our community to join us in promoting this outstanding initiative and to support our students in making the most of this unique learning opportunity.
