Jeff Lakusta

"(After graduating) I went straight to work for a social media startup in Silicon Valley, California, which was then purchased by Google. Understanding the jargon of the core principles of marketing helped me hit the ground running and standout from peers… It's more than semantics though - some of the constructs we used to analyse businesses marketing moves have been useful in helping determine market segmentation, competitive advantages, etc. in my real job."

THIRD SEMESTER
Third semester

At the end of the taught modules during the third semester, you have the option to complete either a final research dissertation or a practical consultancy project undertaken for a company.

Marketing consultancy project

The project gives you an opportunity to work with a company mentor and apply the theoretical skills and techniques learnt during the taught modules to a ‘live’ corporate situation.

This may involve helping a company to examine a range of issues including entry strategies into new markets, market trend analysis, market assessments and competitive analysis.

Research dissertation

The dissertation is an extended piece of research, giving you an opportunity to explore a topic of your choice on a more analytical level. You will apply knowledge gained from the taught modules and develop it further to examine your chosen subject in more depth.
