Experience

Martin Anastasov is a final-year PhD student at the Centre of Advanced Studies in Finance. Prior to enrolling in Leeds University Business School, he obtained a BA (Hons) in International Finance and Trade from the University of Portsmouth. This was followed by an MSc in International Finance from Leeds University Business School. During this time Martin developed an interested in financial mathematics and econometrics. This led to his decision to enroll on a PhD program in CASIF. His PhD, titled “Stochastic Agent-Based Modeling of Heterogeneous Institutional Investment Policies and Evolutionary Market Dynamics” was funded by the Social and Economic Research Council (ESRC) and the University of Leeds.

Martin has teaching experience at both the undergraduate and the postgraduate levels. He is also a CFA Level 3 candidate, having passed Levels 1 and 2 of the CFA program in 2007 and 2009 respectively.

Martin is fluent in English, Russian and Bulgarian and has technical expertise in C/C++, MATLAB, STATA, VBA, x86 Assembly, SAS and MySQL.

Research

Martin’s primary research focus is on agent-based modeling, evolutionary finance, and wealth dynamics in capital markets. Apart from that he is also interested in various issues in asset pricing, log-optimum investment, derivatives pricing, risk management, and financial econometrics.
