Research

I’m an applied research psychologist, working at the interface of organizational and social psychology; although much of my research has been multi-disciplinary in nature, drawing upon the fields of human factors, management, social science, computer science, and engineering. I have over ten years’ experience conducting research in applied settings, including a number of blue-chip organizations with significant international reputations (e.g., Rolls-Royce). My current research interests include crowd behaviour, behaviour change, team working, job analysis, personnel selection, and social cognition. I also have a broader interest in social science research methodology, having developed and published new methods within my research. Most of my roles to date have been hybrid ones, operating as both an academic and an expert consultant to numerous organizations in embedded long-term research partnerships. I also have substantial university teaching experience, from lecturing through to research supervision and academic administration. Finally, I’m Module Leader for the Personnel Selection, Training, and Development double module (LUBS5382M) on the M.Sc. Organizational Psychology course here at Leeds.
