Research
My research is focused on gaining a deeper understanding of how managers can engage employees in employment relationships that will enhance individual and organisational performance and well-being. By way of example, recent studies conducted in the call centre sectior have investigated: (1) how call centre front line employees ascribe meaning to their daily work experience, (2) the main influences (contextual and individual) which shape front line perceptions, (3) the extent of similarity and differences in the causal beliefs of front line workers, supervisors and managers, and (4) the dynamics of motivation, well-being and performance in this context.
A second stream of research is related to the development and validation of research methods.
