Research
Adam’s research is centred on the management science of decision-making by international managers concerning foreign market entry and the exploitation of intellectual property (IP). Emphasis is placed on the commercialisation of IP through licensing, although a sub-theme concerns IP rights enforcement and the management of trade secrets. This research is conducted within the rigorous framework of mainstream international business theory. The People’s Republic of China provides a key country focus for much of Adam’s recent research. For example, Adam is currently conducting work on the internationalisation of state-owned and private firms and on the spill-over effects of foreign direct investment in China.
