Profile

Bulent earned his Ph.D. in 1994 from Marmara University. He is a marketing professor at the University of Leeds (Leeds University Business School). Bulent worked in New Zealand (Lincoln University, Christchurch), Australia (Melbourne University), Canada (Brock University, Ontario), England (King's College London), and Turkey (Kadir Has University and Ozyegin University). He held the Chancellor's Chair for Research Excellence at Brock University during his tenure. He specializes in sales and salesforce management, frontline service employee-customer interface, market-focused management, and multilevel research methods and modeling. His research has been published in prestigious scholarly journals in marketing and related fields, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Retailing, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Operations Management, and Journal of Service Research, among others. He was recently named one of the world's most influential scientists (Ioannidis, Boyack, and Baas 2020). Of approximately 7 million scientists in 22 disciplines and 176 sub-disciplines, he ranks 132nd in the top 2%, which includes only 222 scientists in the marketing discipline worldwide. He served as an Associate Editor for the European Journal of Marketing and the Journal of International Marketing. He has been on the editorial boards of a number of scholarly journals, including the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of Service Research, and the Journal of Operations Management. He also held administrative duties such as Head of Department and Dean at Kadir Has University as well as Head of Department at the University of Leeds.
