Jake Barber

Profile

Jacob (Jake) Barber has taught business studies in North America and the UK. He taught and worked as a course leader with Richmond American University in London, with a focus on first-year student success and academic literacy. He also coordinated the university’s apprenticeship and employability provision. He has an MBA and holds Senior Fellowship with Advance HE (SFHEA).

Previously, Jake studied applied linguistics with the Department of Second Language Studies (MA) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He worked with the US Department of State as a Senior Fellow focusing on English language curriculum development at national levels in Sri Lanka and El Salvador. He has expertise in English for Academic Purposes and international student support at UG and PG levels. He loves the outdoors and life in Yorkshire.
