Bursaries and Scholarships

We offer a number of generous scholarships to deserving candidates. The below scholarships are available for 2017 entry.

MBA Excellence Scholarship 2017/18

What is it?
Leeds University Business School offers a number of part scholarships worth up to 50% of the total fee for particularly deserving candidates for the full-time MBA.

Who qualifies?
Candidates will be assessed by their responses on their application and performance at interview, where they must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, career progression and their potential to contribute to the programme.

How do I apply?
All candidates who are offered a place on the course will be automatically considered.

MBA Americas Excellence Scholarship 2017/18

What is it?
One £13,500 scholarship towards the cost of tuition fees.

Who qualifies?
A particularly deserving applicant from the Americas* wishing to undertake the full-time MBA in 2017/2018. The applicant must demonstrate understanding of the economic and business challenges facing their home country.

How do I apply?
You can apply for this scholarship by downloading the application form and following the instructions. 

What’s the deadline?
30 April 2017, 23:59 (UK Time)

When will I find out?
Successful applicants can expect to be notified of the outcome of their scholarship application within four weeks of the deadline. Successful applicants must accept their scholarship within two weeks of receiving the scholarship offer.

* applicants must be a national of one of the countries within North America, Central or South America.

MBA EEA Excellence Scholarship 2017/18

What is it?
One £13,500 scholarship towards the cost of tuition fees.

Who qualifies?
A particularly deserving applicant from the EEA* wishing to undertake the full-time MBA in 2017/2018. The applicant must demonstrate understanding of the economic and business challenges facing their home country.

How do I apply?

* applicants must be a national of one of the countries within the EEA (including Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway).

Leeds Alumni Bursary and Excellence Scholarship

There are two financial awards for University of Leeds alumni joining the Business School:

Leeds Alumni Bursary

What is it?

The University of Leeds Alumni Bursary offers 10% tuition fee reduction for self or partially funded students* for any Business School Masters degree.

Who qualifies?

Graduates of the University of Leeds (or an affiliated institution*) are entitled to a 10% bursary towards tuition fees. Find out more about eligibility and how to apply for this bursary.

The bursary is calculated based on the net fee remaining i.e. after other scholarships and awards have been deducted.

Graduates of the University of Leeds (or an affiliated institution*) with a First Class undergraduate degree are also eligible for the Leeds University Business School Alumni Excellence Scholarship (details below). Fully funded students are not eligible for this scholarship.

Leeds University Business School Alumni Excellence Scholarship

What is it?

An additional 10% scholarship award towards the fees for the Executive MBA. 

Who qualifies?

Applicants who meet at least one of the criteria below.

  • University of Leeds graduates who achieved a First Class award in their undergraduate degree. See qualifying awards
  • Evidence of having successfully completed continuous professional development and training to date.
  • Evidence of significant professional career progression to date.

Applicants who qualify for this scholarship are also entitled to receive the Leeds Alumni Bursary (details above) resulting in a total award of 20%. The scholarship is calculated based on the net fee remaining i.e. after other scholarships and awards have been deducted (the 10% alumni bursary and 10% alumni scholarship are added together and 20% is deducted from the net fee).

Fully funded students are not eligible for this scholarship.

How do I apply?

All eligible applicants with an offer for the Executive MBA beginning in October 2016 will automatically be considered for this award based upon their application form and performance at interview. 

When will I find out?

You will be advised of whether you have been successful at the point of offer.

Professional and Career Development Loan

A Professional and Career Development Loan worth up to £10,000 can help towards the cost of course fees and living expenses.

UK Government Postgraduate Loan

UK and EU students may be able to apply for a UK government-backed loan of up to £10,000 to fund a Masters degree. Applications should be made through the Student Loans Company. Find out more
