Ideas in Practice Supply Chain Summit 2018
Using digital technologies to make the supply chain much more efficient is one thing, but a more radical proposition is one in which their innovative application leads to entirely new business models and market strategies. Predicting the future can be ineffective, therefore one solution is to shift from prediction to preparation and readiness.
This Supply Chain Summit brings academics and industry together to explore the supply chain opportunities and challenges of building future technological readiness, from a firm and wider Northern regional perspective, addressing the questions:
-
What is the state of readiness of supply chains in the Northern region to seize emerging future technologies and transform their value added activity?
-
Do large firms and SMEs have the capability to fully exploit technological resources to make them competitive now and into the future?
The Summit offers the opportunity to:
- Hear from industry speakers in different sectors and learn how their organisations are addressing digital and advanced technology implementation.
- Network with industry practitioners and leading academics.
- Have access to the latest thinking, exemplar cases and practitioner knowledge on digital technological readiness.
- Find out about research and collaboration opportunities with Leeds University Business School’s Centre for Operations and Supply Chain Research (COSCR).
- Engage with the Supply Chain Council.
Panel discussions will inform the ongoing research of Leeds University Business School’s Centre for Operations and Supply Chain Research (COSCR), whose academics have long-established expertise in this area. The findings will be disseminated to all Summit participants.
The Supply Chain Summit is organised by Leeds University Business School in collaboration with the Supply Chain Council and Squire Patton Boggs.
