Professor Andrew Robinson

Profile

Andrew Robinson is Professor of Accounting and Performance at Leeds University Business School. Andrew is internationally recognised for his work on employee ownership, governance and firm performance.

He has published widely in leading academic journals including Industrial Relations, Personnel Psychology, Human Resource Management, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, the British Journal of Industrial Relations and Work, Employment and Society and has acted as a consultant to leading international organisations including the European Parliament, the European Commission, the International Labor Office, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and the French Ministry of Labour, Employment and Health.

Andrew has been involved in numerous UK and European research projects on employee ownership and financial participation including those funded by the ESRC and the European Commission and his work has directly influenced policy in the UK and Europe. His work has received extensive coverage, particularly in the specialist reward and benefit media.

Andrew is currently working on projects with the Employee Ownership Association profiling the burgeoning employee-owned sector in the UK and the Yorkshire Building Society analysing the behavioural influences and decisions of employee share scheme participants. Andrew is a co-founder of the influential White Rose Employee Ownership Centre - a research centre that brings together academics, practitioners and policymakers from the field of employee ownership.

He was recently re-elected to the Council of the International Association for the Economics of Participation (IAFEP). Andrew has held visiting positions in New Zealand and is currently visiting professor at the Université Panthéon-Assas, Paris-II, Sorbonne Universités, France. Andrew is a judge for the UK Employee Ownership Awards and he is regularly invited to give presentations on employee-owned businesses and employee share ownership, most recently in Norway, France, Belgium and the UK.
