The AACSB was founded in 1916 to accredit business schools in North America and has evolved into one of the world’s largest and most influential business school accreditation associations.
Association of MBAs (AMBA)
The Association of MBAs oversees the standard and quality of MBAs worldwide.
The Business School has demonstrated high quality levels of teaching, in line with AMBA’s independent standards. In January 2023, the Business School was reaccredited for a further five years.
European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS)
We hold EQUIS accreditation.
The European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration.
The Business School demonstrates high quality in all its activities, and also a high level of internationalisation.
British Psychological Society (BPS)
Our MSc Organizational Psychology is British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited.
The Society and its members develop, promote and apply psychology for the public good. The BPS enhances the efficiency and usefulness of psychologists by setting high standards of professional education and knowledge, and cover all areas of psychological research and practice.
Member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS)
The Chartered Association of Business Schools is the representative body for all the leading business schools within the UK.
Our membership enables us to discuss best practice with other business schools and ensure that our standards of teaching, systems and processes continue to excel.
Chartered Banker Institute (CBI) Centre of Excellence
The Chartered Banker Institute (CBI) is a member-led organisation, representing qualified bankers and those working towards their professional qualifications.
Leeds University Business School has been named a Centre of Excellence by the CBI. Our MSc Banking and International Finance programme and our BSc Banking and Finance programme is accredited by the CBI.
Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the leading professional body for marketers worldwide and exists to develop the marketing profession, maintain professional standards and improve the skills of marketing practitioners.
The Business School has joined forces with CIM to give students on the BSc International Business & Marketing, BSc Business Management with Marketing programmes, MA Advertising and Marketing and MSc International Marketing Management, the opportunity to gain professional qualifications through CIM Graduate Gateway. CIM qualifications are highly sought after by employers, and map alongside our own degrees which ensure we are equipping students with the best opportunities for a successful career.
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
Our BA and MA Human Resource Management and BA Business Management and the Human Resource programmes are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Students who complete these courses will be eligible for membership of the CIPD, the professional organisation that represents qualified human resources managers and individuals in related roles.
Chartered Management Institute (CMI) - HE Partner
The University of Leeds is a HE Partner with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
Our MSc Management Consulting is dual accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Graduates of the programme achieve both a degree from the University and a Level 7 Diploma in Professional Consulting from the CMI.
Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)
The Business School forms part of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) accredited White Rose Doctoral Training Centre, a collaboration between the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York. Students studying for a PhD in Business and Management or Economics can apply for ESRC scholarships.
The Centre also offers opportunities for funding 1+3 students, where a student undertakes a Masters course during their first year and on successful completion, progresses onto the PhD.
Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade
Our MSc International Business, MSc International Marketing Management and all of our undergraduate international business courses are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade.

Founding Member of the Alliance of Chinese & European Business Schools (ACE)
The Alliance of Chinese & European Business Schools (ACE) founded in 2013/14, sits under the patronage of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), Europe's largest network association in the field of management development. Twenty business schools, ten in China and ten in Europe, including the University of Leeds were founding members of the Alliance. ACE will focus on academic excellence and the synergy between research and education in order to better prepare the next generation of executives.
