Dr Jo Ingold

Profile

I came to Leeds in October 2011, as part of the Building Sustainable Societies project. I have previously worked in the third sector and also held a number of posts in central government, including as a researcher in the Department for Work and Pensions.

I have a long-standing interest in public employment policies and in particular in active labour market programmes. My PhD was an ESRC CASE studentship in collaboration with the Department for Work and Pensions and was a comparative analysis of policies to assist partnered women into work in the UK, Australia and Denmark.

I was awarded an ESRC Future Leaders grant (2014-2017) to examine employer engagement in employability and skills programmes in the UK and Denmark, focusing on the role of inter-organisational relations.

I am a member of the Associate Editorial Board of Work, Employment and Society, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a member of the ESRC Peer Review College and an Academic Member of the CIPD.

I currently supervise PhDs in the following areas: disability; sickness absence; parental leave; stress-reduction interventions
