Congratulations on receiving an offer to study at Leeds University Business School.
We know that choosing to pursue a postgraduate research degree is a big decision and that there are many things to consider during this next stage of your journey. Below you’ll find a range of links to the important information you’ll need as you prepare to start your postgraduate research studies.
Research Degree Induction Programme
Our induction takes place over a number of weeks. All new researchers attend our PhD induction day on Thursday 24th January 2019, and are required to attend training in the following weeks. Please make sure you arrive in Leeds in time to attend the full induction programme.

You should be able to commence registration through Minerva from 1 January, however if there are any conditions on your offer letter these will need to be met prior to registration. You can find registration instructions here. You can find registration instructions here.

All postgraduate researchers are invited to attend a personal welcome and induction meeting with the Graduate School (approximately 30 minutes) on arrival, if they wish. This meeting is an informal opportunity for you to ask any questions you have about your studies and for us to give you some information about studying here.
Please contact the Graduate School by emailing email@example.com to confirm your arrival date. If you would like to book a one to one induction, please let us know so that we can arrange a suitable time.
We also recommend that you contact your supervisors to let them know when you will be arriving and to arrange an initial meeting.

International postgraduate researchers are encouraged to visit the International Student Office shortly after arriving at the University to collect a welcome pack. The International Student Office also organises orientation briefings to provide international postgraduate researchers with essential information on banking, healthcare, registering with the police, living in Leeds with your family, and UK regulations. In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet other postgraduate researchers from across the University.

All new researchers attend the LUBS PhD induction day on Thursday 24 January. Further induction activities are planned for the following weeks and will be confirmed shortly. Please make sure you arrive in Leeds in time to attend the full induction programme. Provisional induction timetables will be posted here over the coming weeks.
The Doctoral College are hosting a ‘Doctorientation’ event on Tuesday 19 February. This is an opportunity to meet other new postgraduate researchers from across the University and learn more about the campus. You can find out more and register on the Doctoral College Facebook page.
