Dr Michael Price
Michael is a Senior Research Fellow at Leeds University Business School. He is currently working with staff from across the faculty to develop the school's impact portfolio in the run-up to REF 2021.
Michael is a graduate of the universities of Hull (BSc), Nottingham (MA) and Newcastle (MBA, PhD). Prior to joining Leeds, he was employed as a Teaching Fellow (2015-2016) and as a Postdoctoral Research Associate (2016-2019) at Newcastle University. He is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at The Centre for Research on Entrepreneurship, Wealth and Philanthropy at Newcastle University. Michael is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Michael is an expert in corporate governance and has a specific interest in understanding how organisations can be more accountable to their stakeholders. In this context, his work has examined the use of language in organisational discourse. He has had his research published in Critical Perspectives on Accounting and Accounting, Audit, Accountability Journal. Michael is currently involved in a longstanding research project entitled Philanthropy, Enterprise and Society in North East England (with Charles Harvey (Newcastle), Mairi Maclean (Bath) and Vesela Harizanova (Newcastle)). He is interested in receiving inquiries from students who wish to undertake doctoral study in his areas of expertise.
