Dr Luisa Huatuco

Profile

I am an established leader in the field of manufacturing systems complexity, I was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2015 for my national leadership in manufacturing systems complexity and I have expanded this to international leadership in the last five years at York, as demonstrated with my Co-Editorship role for the International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management (1*ABS).

This leadership is demonstrated through international high ranked publications including: International Journal of Operations and production Management (4* ABS), European Journal of Operational Research (4*ABS), International Journal of Production Economics (3*ABS), Production Planning and Control (3*ABS), International Journal of Production Research (3*ABS), etc.

Competitive research funding awards to progress research into sustainability and resilience was gained from Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship (MCIIF) and EPSRC and a status able to convene international research gatherings on sustainability, performance and complexity from the British Academy/Newton Fund.

I am active member of the academic community as demonstrated by my different roles and initiatives, e.g. SIG Chair/Co-Track chair of the British Academy of Management conference, Performance Management track.

I am a Co-Editor-In-Chief for the International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management (IJPPM) together with Dr Nicky Shaw from Leeds University Business School (University of Leeds, UK). I am an Editorial Review Board member of the International Journal of Knowledge and Systems Science (IJKSS) and formerly of the International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management (IJPPM). I am a member of the recently updated Editorial Review Board for the International Journal of Operations and Production Management (IJOPM).

I am a member of the EPSRC Manufacturing Futures Network, EPSRC Associate Peer Review College, British Academy of Management (BAM), European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) and Decision Sciences Institute (DSI).

Research interests

My international standing comes from my interests, expertise and achievements in manufacturing systems complexity. I specialise in complexity in supply chains, specifically how to manage disruptions in high value environments in which environment and social impacts can be high.

I have disseminated the results of my research using various routes including: internationally ranked academic journals and several international conferences. I have also been fostering links with researchers in Latin America and Europe.

I have co-Guest Edited a special volume on “Decision-support models and tools for helping to make real progress to more sustainable societies” for the Journal of Cleaner Production (Vol. 105), as well as acted as the Lead Guest Editor of two special issues for the International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management on: “Third Sector and Performance” (Vol. 63, No. 6) and “Performance measurement of sustainable supply chains” (Vol. 62, No.8).
