Ruth Sharpe

Profile

Ruth Sharpe is a gig economy academic and HR professional combining strong business acumen with extensive experience in leadership and management development, human resource management, human resource development and business strategy. Ruth has a managerial background in the commercial sector which has served to underpin her academic career. In her consultancy capacity, Ruth has worked across private, public and third sectors offering a range of people development practices and HRM based advice.

Ruths current academic research is examining how HR planning can support the UK Digital Skills gap.
Ruth has also contributed to a number of empirical studies including:

Ruth has taught International HRM and HRM/CIPD in the Global Development Institute GDI at Manchester University, Salford University and at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) amongst others and was previously a CIPD Programme Leader. She has strong cultural understanding and has taught learners from around the world.

Most recently Ruth has taught HRM Practice, Organisational Behaviour and Learning, Training and Development in the GDI at Manchester University. Ruth is also a member of the award winning Professional Development Teaching Team in Salford Business School at Salford University.
