Jessica Sims

As Strategic Initiatives Coordinator for the Management Division, my role is to implement a range of projects across student education and research which help us work towards our goals as a division.

Working closely with the Engagement Manager, I support the Leaders in Residence programme and other corporate engagement activities. Leaders in Residence brings together experienced professionals to share their top tips, expertise and diverse experiences of the corporate environment with our students. We ask our Leaders to be open, honest and challenging in their discussions.

The network consists of 90 chief executives, partners, managing directors, entrepreneurs and early career professionals, many of whom are alumni.

We connect the theory we teach with real world practice; our Leaders interact with students through conference days which are held as part of compulsory core modules across UG and PG teaching. Much of the activity centres on mini mentoring round table discussions which help the students improve their commercial awareness, understand leadership and management (and the differences) and support personal development.
