Dr Franklin Nakpodia


Franklin Nakpodia (PhD) joined The University of Leeds as a Lecturer in its Business School in January 2019. Before joining Leeds, he worked as a Lecturer at Northumbria University, UK from September 2012. He teaches on a number of modules within the Accounting and Finance undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He leads the Financial Reporting and Analysis module (LUBS5982) at the school. His areas of research include corporate governance and corporate social responsibility, with a specific focus on institutional frameworks in emerging and developing economies. His research has been published in globally renowned journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting Forum, Business and Society, Journal of Business Research, among others. He has also presented his research at major international conferences organised by The Academy of Management (AOM), The Academy of International Business (AIB), British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), etc. In addition to his academic career, Franklin possesses more than a decade of professional experience in accounting and banking industries in different countries.
