Dr Pia Helbing


Pia Helbing is a Lecturer in Finance at the Leeds University Business School. Pia's research interest lies in the area of corporate finance and private equity. She especially looks at initial public offerings in Europe investigating IPO withdrawal, post-IPO withdrawal outcomes and the effects of IPO withdrawal. The role of private equity within the IPO process is of special interest in this research. Pia presented her work at major national and international conferences. She is an associate editor for Finance Research Letters (FRL) and Research in International Business and Finance (RIBAF) as well as a technical editor for International Review of Financial Analysis (IRFA).

Prior to joining the faculty at Leeds in April 2019, Pia worked as an Adjunct Teaching Fellow in Finance at the Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin, where she also completed her PhD. She holds a MSc degree in Finance, and a BA degree in International Business Administration.
