Profile
Hyunyoung Jo is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) of Human Resource Management at Leeds University Business School. Her research examines the effects of high-performance work systems on employee and organisational performance.
She holds a PhD in Human Resource Management from King's Business School, King's College London, and received the King’s Outstanding Thesis Prize sponsored by Elsevier for her doctoral research. She also holds postgraduate degrees in Management Studies from Cass Business School, City University London.
Her work is located at the intersection of strategic human resource management, organisational behaviour, and service management, and has been published in the Human Resource Management Journal and at international conferences. Using quantitative research methods, her current research primarily explores the effects of HR practices on employee and organisational outcomes, focusing on psychological processes behind the behaviour exhibited by employees in various service contexts. Related interests also include leadership, well-being at work, flexible working arrangements, and emotional labour.

My research interests are high performance work system, employee motivation and behaviour, organisational performance, employee well-being, and service management.
