Experience

Dr Short has played a major part in initiating and developing undergraduate modules and MBA modules (both full time and in Singapore) in Financial Analysis. She has also lectured in taxation, corporate financial decision making, financial analysis and merger valuation in the various University Executive Courses, particularly the Chancellor's Financial Sector Scheme (for FSU Managers) from 1992 to 1998. Dr Short's key skills belong in the IT field. She has been at the forefront in developing and establishing the use of integrated on-line and CD-ROM based facilities and teaching methods in undergraduate, MBA and executive courses within the Business School.

Research

Her main research interests are on the relationships between corporate governance structures and firm performance, particularly the role played by institutional investors. She has published in numerous academic journals and co-authored a book investigating small firm managerial labour markets.
