Experience

Previously worked as a lecturer at the University of Liverpool (2010). I also have extensive experience as a researcher (University of Liverpool 2007-2010, University of Leeds 2003-2007).My research explores aspects of EU and national employment law and policy relating in particular to gender equality, mobility, highly skilled and fixed-term employment. Through a series of empirical socio-legal research projects I have investigated law and policy in a number of settings. I have developed specific expertise in the area of human resource management within the Higher Education sector in the area of fixed-term employment. My research approach is interdisciplinary and aims to bring together legal and policy analysis with qualitative social research. I have experience of working collaboratively on cross national research projects I am keen to engage in knowledge transfer involving non-academic audiences. Throughout my PhD I worked with the Women and Equality Unit, the non-academic partner under my ESRC CASE award. I have also presented research findings to a range of policy actors at UK and EU level as well as working with non-academic partners through funded research projects. I have managed a funded project as a principle investigator and have experience as a researcher on projects funded by the Research Councils, the European Commission and the ACCA.
