Leeds is the cultural capital of the north, with a range of cinemas, theatres, galleries, museums and musical venues to challenge, entertain and amuse you.
Student friendly
Leeds University is an academic goliath and has been part of the city’s fabric since 1904. Residents have had plenty of time to get to know and love the institution and its 30,000 students. With so many full time students and a multicultural environment you’ll find plenty of like-minded people to share your experience.

We have two full-time support officers for personal support and your personal tutor is available to provide you with academic advice on your programme studies.
Also, in conjunction with the University’s Student Support Network, we run a Peer Mentoring Scheme for all new undergraduate students. The aim of the scheme is to help new students to adapt to University life by matching them with a student in Year 2 or 3. In this way, experiences can be shared and problems discussed.
We also timetable free extra language support for international first year undergraduates in the form of 1.5hours of English for Business tutoring. As well as language support, all international students will be assigned a personal mentor who will hold 1-2-1 sessions after induction to ensure students have settled in and help with any problems or concerns.
